Just to start out I have never been an extrovert, the polar opposite in fact. Here's the deal though I may not post what is going on in my life. Nothing exciting going on anyway, job hunting in this economy and area sucks. I do however read my friends list almost everyday. So even if I don't say anything. I am here. Honest. :)

So...yeah. Been kinda busy. Computer was down for 3 weeks so I bought a new one. *g* Dance has been keeping me busy. We just had a show in Portland at Pagan Pride. Really fun. I'll post some pics later.

Umm had 2 weeks off work and was extermly productive. I cleaned the living room, kitchen, got rid of 3 boxes of books to the Friends of the Library, and 4 large garbage bags of clothes went to a local thrift store. Only one was mine, the rest came from dad's things and a bit from mom. Called on a couple houses both were rented already. I am so fed up with this area. Too many loud asses too close to me.

My dance troupe had a performance this past Saturday at the Brownsville Pioneer Picnic. There were quite a bit more people there than at the Classic Car show we were at on the 10th.

Our set started at 6 and we finished about 6:40. We started out with our beginner class dance, Saidi didi, then immediately into the One Minute Veil dance, which is what the other vid I uploaded was. After that dance we did the Hip Drop Dance.

I have this small love affair with the Hip Drop Dance. When I was first starting out I saw the advanced troupe do it and so wanted to learn it. When I did learn it I was so bouncy. I wanted to show it off to everyone. Well everyone but one person has seen it and that is the person who wants to see me do it the most. I need to get the music badly.

Then there was a solo, not by me. *g* Then we did Prologue, which is to Lorenna McKinnet's Prologue, hence the name. *g* My teacher had been trying to choreograph this song for years and a couple weeks ago she had a brain storm and this dance came about. The dance is beautiful, I'm very proud I know it. We are set up in three rows. I'm in the back, which not a bad place to be. Kinda nerve wracking though. There is a part where we turn and the people in the back have to lead. I have to close my eye so not to go too fast on our snake arms. *g* I have a video of it but it is too big for youtube, if anyone wants it here's Prologue. Then open floor, a solo by my teacher, the Maya dance and finally Drum Solo.

Drum Solo not actually a solo, we all dance to it. It is fast and fun. It always gets a big reaction from the audience. Now with that out of the way. I was taught the dance in less than 10 minutes on a Wednesday and did it on that Saturday. I had no music to practice to. So I'm amazed I even kept to my feet. I can't watch the video I messed up so badly, but hey, feel free to laugh I know it's pretty funny. *g* Drum Solo.

For those of you interested in me making a fool of myself here's a link to my first performance in public. The video quality isn't all that good but hey it works. *g* I'm the one in the back on the left. Enjoy!

My very first belly dancing performance is tomorrow. I haven't performed anything in front of anyone since I was in Bye Bye Birdie my Senior year of High School. I'm both excited and nervous. I know I can do my two gypsy class dances. The Tribal is what is worrying me. It isn't choreographed so that means I need to remember what moves I learned then lead the other people in the troupe. O_o I'm not to sure about that. No. I can do this. I know it. Anyway if I mess up I'll only have a couple people who won't let me live it down. *g*

Yesterday was a kickass productive day.

The Boy and I cleaned my bedroom in order to make room for my new bed which I'll be getting on Friday. Now, I live in an apartment and have lived here for about seven years. When I find a place for something that works I tend to leave it as it is. Hence the reason I was using boxes of books as tables. *roll eyes*

Anyway, I decided since I was getting a shiny new bed I need to make a change and toss the clutter. I enlisted my Boy to help me do the heavy lifting. Poor thing had three busy days before the heavy labor. He does still owe me as day of slavery due to me abstaining from coffee for a week. Maybe I'll wipe the slate clean with this.

Maybe not. *bg*

We started pulling stuff from off bookcases, out of the closet, under the window and beneath the bed at about 11:30. We made a good deal of progress by 1:45 when we knocked off to go see Ice Age 2. Funny movie we both liked it. *g*

We came back and he took my boxes to the dumpster. I couldn't watch. I'm such a raging packrat it's not funny. It almost hurt to see things I had held on to for so long go, but change is necessary sometimes and was one of them.

I had some bags of material that I was going to just put back underneath my bed for the moment. The Boy asked what I was going to with them, I felt him deflate when I told him what I was going to do. He's somewhat of a perfectionist, me not so much. I turned to him and asked him what I should do with them then. He told me they'd probably fit on the shelves. I exclaimed, "I have shelves!?" I got a very long hug for how sincere I was in not realizing I had space now. I'm still trying to come to terms with all my new space. Luckily it'll be filled with bed soon. *g*

In this massive spring cleaning we stirred up a ton of dust. Unfortunately it hadn't totally settled before I went to sleep. So I breathed in random dust all night and woke to a beautiful voice. I've been bouncing between no voice and phone sex operator all day. You have any idea how hard it is to get attention when your voice is set to gravelly? Oi. Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow. *g*

On the dance front learned the moves to the two dances we'll be doing in class tonight. I'm so loving belly dancing!

I just realized I haven't posted anything for sometime. So now you all get to be updated in my life. *g*

In my goal to get fit and sexy, I started taking a tribal belly dancing class. I have been going every Friday after work for the last four weeks. I am having a blast and having to wear a belt more often. *g* It is so fun. I'm learning the moves pretty well. I won't speak of the Steve Martin like flailing I did at last class trying to learn the first traveling move. *g* Starting the 20th I'll be taking Gypsy belly dance on Monday also and if things work out well I'll be doing Intermediate Tribal when that class is offered. I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying this. I've thought about taking dance for years but was somewhat nervous. I'm very nervous of looking like a fool in front of people. However I have promised someone I'd dance for them. So this is kinda a big step for me. Wish me luck.

A while ago I mentioned the Animeondvd Draft. Well things went great the first round I was in a three way tie for second. Yay! Then I dropped to 10th with the second round. Not much love for the Serial killer type I guess. We're now waiting for the 4th round to end. I'm hoping to gain some ranks. Keep track of the rise and fall here.

I've decided to keep track of my DVD collection. It's not too big but my anime is a pain to keep track of. I'm using dvdaficionado to keep track of my collection. I just started listing them tonight so not everything is on yet. If you're interested to see my eclectic collection feel free to take a peek.

Woke up this morning to snow. Normally quite nifty. However, this morning I was supposed to go get a hair cut. Those plans now aren't happening. S'oaky though. *g* I'll grab pictures later. Got pictures now. *g*
Let it snow! )

And since I can't resist I folded to the johari. I've seen many people do it so I just had too. So tell me what you think of me. http://kevan.org/johari?name=pingin_tango

Ok, so I'm sucking like a sucking thing. I really need to write up a 6 page paper for my Boy. I have pretty much all the info I need. Problem is I can't write the damn thing.

I have no inspiration.

Any muse I might have had caught a bus to Abu Dhabi.

Gah!

I may have said I'm a mediocre watercolorist. If I haven't said that, well, I'm a mediocre watercolorist. *g*

Now however I have inflicted my paintings on the world. That's right I got talked into getting a Deviant Art account. I only have about 6 paintings up plus some photos in my scraps section. Most of them are of my cat because he's just so darn fun to harass.

If you want to here's the link to my "art". If you like them let me know I love praise. If you don't like them also let me know concrit can be helpful too. *g*

I'm playing a game on the Anime on DVD boards. I've entered the AoD draft. We pick our team from a bunch of different series. 27 people have entered, only 20 can participate.

The first poll will be up on Wednesday and I got some tough competition. If I don't get enough votes I'll be out before I can even get to play. *sniff* I have to believe in my pick....

But a little help is good too. *g*

For the love of boobies. Vote Mustang.

I got nifty stuff today. I got a fabulous photo collage of me and pingins from Odder's Mommy. A couple years ago we picked her up at the airport at like 4am after she got back from Alaska. We spent the day riding the Max and going to the Zoo. I loved the Penguinarium. My glee knew no bounds. This picture is of me and Odder at an Elmer's (a pancake house)
I'm on the left )
I'm only showing this cause I happen to think I don't look hideous.

My lovely Dear got me a digital camera. I can now inflict pic of my life on you all now. *g* Here's the view of where we spent the day. You should see it in Summer )

I'd be a bit more bouncy about getting Serenity except I had to get up at 6:45 this morning to go to a CPR/First aid class. So now I'm certified to save lives. I just want to use the AED. Clear!

Anyway I loves me some Joss and Serenity still rocks my socks.

Night.

Last night I found a torrent for Epiphany. It started slow with it saying it would be 1 day 11 hours to complete. It finally picked up speed with three hours left to go. I was quite of the happy. Thought I'd be able to watch in the morning.

Then it happened. The power goes out.

Damn it! damn it! damn it!

OK, tried figure out what the hell happened. Odd. For as far as I could see the power was out. Not normal. Neither was the multiple police cars and firetrucks driving east. I couldn't tell what happened so since I was getting paranoid I headed to bed with my fireplace poker (the only good thing I made in metal shop). At about midnight the power came back up. Got Bittorret back up at a quarter of the download speed. *pout* Oh well it was still done in the morning.

Found out what happened to the power. The power was out for over 16,500 people and what caused it wasn't the weather like I thought it might have been. No that would have been far far too normal. What it was, was someone tried to steal the copper wire from a grounding wire to the power line.

Yes some assclown tried to steal a freaking power line. WTF? I know we have the highest meth production in Oregon, I know pot is plentiful in the area. But...damn man. What the hell? That just hit a new level of stupidity.
